"CE certified to en 1078 ,specialized ,HA 123234"
puis "56-60cm TT CE medium specialized 310g cycling helmet"

Dear athletes,
as a reminder:
as you hopefully might have realized, at the Kona race there will be only CPSC standard helmets allowed due to insurance policies. I send an email to USAT to see, if any (exceptional) possibility to use helmets achieving other regional standards would exist; there is none!
In the past years, according to USAT other helmets were allowed, because in Hawaii they did not strictly follow the insurance policy; in case of accidents this would lead to huge financial losses for USAT or WTC though - so, in my eyes it is not convenient, but understandable that they will have to enforce the helmet check!
Please make sure, you will have a CPSC certified helmet with you for the race. It may even be the case, that your helmet achieves the correct standard, but does not have the CPSC sticker in it due to the different regional main standards. If so, your sponsor might be able to provide a sticker. If not so, you will need to choose a helmet which is CPSC certified. Even some aero helmets achieve the standard.

best regards and a great race, Olaf Sabatschus
